🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Share Anger About Size Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size. The popular resale platform has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's garments failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Online Platforms Backlash Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category than originally posted due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services. It has advised users to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Changes Earlier, the sizing featured one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Accounts A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Manual Updates A different user, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: earlier, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
